Exam Week
It is 10:25pm and I am wide awake, drinking root beer, and suddenly realizing that in less than 8hrs for the next 3 days I will be ripping my hair out (this may not be figuratively) because I have dreadful exams. The only thing that might keep me from ripping my hair out is that 3 of the 7 exams I have to take are already completed (Biology, Geometry, and P.E.) and all 3 are my worst subjects. I'm hoping that this will lighten my mood seeing as the remaining subjects (Culinary Arts, 2-D Art, English, and History) are fairly easy. The only exam I really have to worry about is my 2-D Art exam...if I fail the exam...I fail the class and yet here I am writing a post to my blog instead of studying like good students do. I guess now you can see I am a HUGE procrastinator, but hey even some of the most famous people were procrastinators...for example, Leonardo Da Vinci. Did you know he took 16 years to paint the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper was only finished after Duke Ludovico, his patron, threatened to cut off funds...and yet it still took 3 years to officially be completed. You learn a lot in my 2-D Art class lol.

Disney Pin Collecting Obsessed
Hello, my name is Casey and I'm obsessed
with Disney Pins.
I'm sure many people think Disney pin trading and collecting is for kids, but boy am I going to prove you wrong. I know WAY more adults and teens who collect Disney pins than kids. I follow 1266 people on Instagram who are adults/teens that collect Disney pins. I'm also sure you think these pins are cheap and easy to get...well you're wrong again. One of my pins, which is JUMBO, Limited Edition 300, and from 2004 is worth $150 and that is still not that expensive. There are pins that go for way over $1,000. Crazy right?
When I first started collecting back in June 2014 (I was babysitting and made $10/hour...working for 5hrs+), I thought this hobby would be super inexpensive and super fun. Although it is super fun, it takes up a lot of cash. Most of which I earn by selling extra pins I have acquired since June or from buying cheap lots of various pins off of other collectors and selling those to earn double or triple what I paid each (I know that sounds terrible) but I also TRADE. I've shipped to every country in the world and have acquired at least 1 pin from every Disney park, every Disney store in Japan/Hong Kong/Tokyo/UK, and pins that date back to the 80s. For our LATE 6month-iversarry (we went in November) my boyfriend, Michael, took me to Walt Disney World's Downtown Disney to pin trade. I had no idea what was going on until we got to the "Walt Disney World" sign in Orlando. I think his hopes were that I would fall asleep on the drive there and not notice...however that didn't really work out because as soon as I saw that sign I put 2 and 2 together and figured out why he asked me to take my pins. What he had told me was that he found a Disney Collectible store in our area that had a ton of pins and they trade/sell so I should bring my pins with me. Anyways, I had made only 1 large trade with a collector that was also at "Pin Traders" in Downtown Disney, but I did make a bunch of trades with Cast Members and my boyfriend bought me a bunch of pins. Now he has his own little collection on a 8x8 cork tile. He's never bought a pin for himself...it's usually me getting pins of his favorite characters or matching pin sets (like our "I'm his Minnie" "I'm her Mickey" pin set) and giving them to him.
Man I can talk a lot about pins, but to cut the rest short...you can really tell I'm addicted to these pretty pieces of metal. If any of you readers want to start pin collecting I can definitely lead you in the right direction and give you some tips and tricks.
Looking for a job
I hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day!
I am stuck at home blogging to probably no one and still looking on www.snagajob.com for someone who will actually hire a 16 year old, while my family is out at a BBQ having ribs, which are my favorite food of ALL. TIME. This 95lb body can eat a whole entire rack of ribs in...30mins? I don't know, I don't actually time myself.
(Thanks mom for teasing me with this picture)
Anyways, I am 8 job applications in and still haven't heard from anyone and it's getting a little frustrating because summer starts on June 4th. I really have to find something to make some extra cash so I can actually have a life this summer compared to the last 5 summers I've had where I wasn't able to get money from my parents without having to work for it. Obviously, I did earn some money but it wasn't enough to say I had a very memorable summer. Oh how I wish I had the luck of my friends who just ask for money and their parents give it to them...but I guess at least I already know how to work for my own money? And maybe once I get hired, I'll end up with a higher position than they will get once they start working.
Is that a bad thing to say about your friends?
Introduction...sorta
I figured I would start off with a brief introduction on why the hell I'm writing to strangers about my life. Well I can tell you right now in 4 words. I really don't know. As I was sitting in my room maybe 45 minutes ago I was thinking of the movie I had watched in Culinary Art's class, "Julie and Julia", which is now in my top 10 favorite movies. I was so inspired that Julie went through her challenge to complete all 524 recipes in Julia Child's cook book in a year and still managed to blog every day. I definitely need to challenge myself at keeping up with something and in doing so I thought "hey, maybe a daily blog would work?". So here I am, writing to over 7 billion people on the plant I call home about my life and what it is like growing up. Although I am 100% sure anyone who is now in adulthood knows the struggles of being a teenager...but who knows...maybe this will become popular?
